Dreadlock Holiday

I rode my pushbike through Sri Lanka to an endless cycle of Bob Marley songs that burrowed into my brain and played that dark dance hall over and over till the tyres of Thai Air 999 left the bandaranaike tarmac sans shrapnel, bombs or missiles. Bush weed and dreadlocks. Machine guns and Arack. Lion, curry and cricket. Ricky Fucken Ponting.

Life on the beach, as the tide licks the bar, and the mangy canine gang wars play out on the sand. High tea indeed as the beach party swells in the evenings with the shadows from the trees and the morning reveals what the tide has left behind. Every day a picture.
